Occupational Therapy Job Summary:
Better Mobility is a leading independent supplier of assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment in the Riverina region of New South Wales. We supply a range of assistive technology for clients of all ages including but not limited to wheelchairs, seating systems, transfer equipment, and we have recently moved into our new, purpose built premises. We are NDIS registered providers in NSW, VIC and ACT and above all, we care about the job that we do.
We are looking for an Assistive Technology Specialist to join our team. This role will be based at our office in Wagga Wagga NSW, but will involve travel around the region approximately 3-4hrs radius including the ACT and Northern Victoria.
Ideally you will have significant experience in the configuration and setup of manual and power wheelchairs, as well as assessment of clients and development of seating solutions to suit. Qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy are not essential, but would be highly regarded. If you are a recent graduate in either discipline, you are encouraged to apply. We hire based on attitude, not just experience.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Initial assessment of clients to determine clinical needs and what equipment will be required
Working with therapists and clients to achieve identified goals for assistive technology
Development and recommendation of equipment that meets the requirements of the client, including preparation of script forms and quotes
Liaising with therapists in regards to equipment enquiries, training and ongoing support
Managing trials of equipment from booking to conducting the trial, including 'hands on' to make any adjustments to equipment as identified during the course of the trial. This will involve adjusting parts, programming of electronics, modifications to seating systems and changing components over during trials to assess suitability
Managing your own time to ensure efficient response to therapists and clients

A generous salary package including commission scheme is available and negotiable for the right applicant. You must also be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle, and be able to pass National Police and Working with Children checks as required by our clients.
This is a full time position, Monday to Friday.
